Based on the autobiographies of almost 200 adults in Finland, this is a
sociological study of sexuality in human life. The study identifies the
evolution of sexuality through three generations (the generations of sexual
restraint, revolution, and equalization) as well as evolution during the life of
one individual. The experiences of the subjects demonstrate the impact of major

Marital and Sexual Lifestyles in the United States: Attitudes, Behaviors,
and Relationships in Social Context by Linda Rouse
We like to think that we exercise free choice in our lives, but our social
context often delimits our options and influences our decisions. Rouse explores
the role of society in shaping the private sexual behaviour of couples. This
book is written as an introductory textbook for undergraduate students, and has
an accessible style. As well as theoretical material, Rouse includes practical
information such as tips for communication about sex with partners. The book
provides references to additional academic material on marital and sexual

- Private Life Survey -
This survey aims to examine the health and wellbeing of individuals in the
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (GLBTI) community. It is
being carried out through Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria (GLHV) in
partnership with the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS)
at La Trobe University.
